Pighuts.co.uk is a small family business run by James and Anna King providing superb quality, value for money outdoor pig hut accommodation for smallholders anywhere in the UK.
After building up a pig herd from 50 sows to 550 from 1991 to 1999, we have a wealth of experience in outdoor pig keeping. After having enough of some very wet winters and awful pig prices, we started to sell our own used pig equipment to smallholders and as there seemed to be a good demand therefore we continued the business by sourcing used equipment from other pig farmers. We keep our costs low by spending minimal amounts on advertising and doing the work ourselves, this means we can keep the costs of our products as affordable as possible.
Most of our huts are refurbished before sale and represent superb value for money when compared to a new hut. Some of the hew huts that are produced for the small holder sector are simply not as strong or as well made as the ones we sell. Our huts are designed for a long, hard life on commercial farms and the build quality shows.
Quite simply, our huts are half the price, but twice the hut.
We have sold huts to a huge variety of people, from one of the largest commercial pig farmers in the country with thousands of outdoor sows to people with one pig in their back garden. Our customers have included former motor racing world champion Jody Schekter's Laverstoke Park Estate, Goodwood Estates, TV chef Phil Vickery, several Farm Parks and Derbyshire college of Agriculture. Our arks have gone to all parts of the UK, from West Cornwall to the Inner Hebrides, North Wales to Kent.
